According to him, over the centuries “humanity has fought against nature, over-exploiting natural resources.”
At the same time, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen added that the “European green deal” will mean reducing emissions, improving the quality of life, as well as creating new jobs. She encouraged investing in innovation and green technology.
The head of the EC noted that next month “the first European law of transition to climate neutrality” is planned.
Earlier, the European Parliament approved a resolution in which it announced a “climate emergency” in Europe and the world.
