Mobile IDCs with energies up to 3 MeV are mounted on the car chassis and require a sanitary zone during operation. Mobile IDKs are used in those places (zones of customs control) where it is necessary to conduct an inspection of vehicles and bulky goods, but it is not possible to establish a stationary system. When carrying out x-ray inspection of large-sized objects, the object itself remains stationary, and scanning is carried out by moving the mobile IDK. Deploying the complex into position takes several tens of minutes.
Particular attention in the operation of a mobile IDK should be given to the organization and maintenance of the radiation safety zone (sanitary zone) regime.
Among this type of IDK, there is a division into low-energy, medium-energy, and high-energy.
